The Thread of Our Future: Bringing International Solidarity to Life

At a time when international solidarity is increasingly being called into question, nearly 200 organizations united under Coordination SUD are launching “Le fil de notre avenir.” This campaign serves as a reminder that development cooperation is a legacy, a collective strength, and a choice for the future. BATIK International is proud to join this effort.

Reaffirming the Role of International Solidarity

Declining public funding, a proliferation of crises, and growing skepticism toward international cooperation… The nonprofit sector is facing an unprecedented period. In the face of these challenges, The Thread of Our Future carries a simple message: in an interdependent world, our future is linked to that of others.

Through the metaphor of the thread, the campaign highlights the bonds that unite generations, regions, and peoples. It invites us to view international solidarity not as an isolated act, but as a collective commitment that helps build fairer, more inclusive, and more resilient societies.

A legacy that continues to be written

The campaign visuals bring together iconic figures from our history—such as Simone Veil, Marie Curie, Aimé Césaire, and Olympe de Gouges, with women and men who, even today, are working to advance rights, health, education, equality, and the fight against hunger. This juxtaposition serves as a reminder that these struggles do not stop at national borders. They are part of a shared history and continue to take shape thanks to the daily commitment of thousands of people working to promote solidarity.

BATIK International Takes Action

As a member of Coordination SUD, BATIK International is supporting this campaign, convinced that social, climate, health, and democratic challenges call for collective responses.

We are proud to contribute, alongside nearly 200 organizations, to foster international solidarity based on cooperation, human rights, and the engagement of civil society.
