The GENEQ project has officially launched!

BATIK International and its European partners have come together to collaboratively develop more inclusive tools and methods to support young people on their path to empowerment. A few weeks later, three young people from Marseille participated in the “Youth Voices from Rural Europe” event at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, where they presented recommendations based on their own realities and experiences.
Two key moments that illustrate the project’s ambition: empowering young people and promoting more inclusive participation in decision-making forums across Europe.

Immersion Programs to Promote the Well-Being and Empowerment of Refugees

At the Moulin Butin farm, Adel, Issa, Murtaza, and Samiullah spent a few days immersing themselves in working the land, communal living, and discovering rural life in France. Looking Back at BATIK International’s Participation in CSW70 (New York)

In New York, the 70th Commission on the Status of Women marked a decisive shift in global negotiations on gender equality.

Focused on women’s and girls’ access to justice, the session was defined by unusually high tensions, exposing just how strong the pushback against feminist progress has become.

Amid these debates, Batik International played a strategic role: defending ambitious positions, amplifying the voices of its partners, and insisting on the urgent need to secure real, enforceable rights for all. Between forced setbacks, hard‑won gains, and strengthened alliances, this edition has redrawn the balance multilateral engagement.

Health and Autonomy: 40 Young People Mobilize in Tunisia !

Last February in Hammamet, 40 Tunisian students came together for an intensive training on sexual and reproductive health (SRH), led by our partner The Tunisian Forum for Youth Empowerment. The aim was clear: to break taboos and become genuine agents of change within their universities.

Between unpacking gender stereotypes and learning how to design projects, these young leaders are now preparing their own awarenessaising campaigns.

Morocco: Livestock farming as a lever for empowerment with the Rosa Association

A new partner has joined the « Parions l’égalité » project : the Rosa Association, which supports the autonomy of rural women near Ouarzazate through goat farming.

But economic autonomy alone is not enough if it isn’t accompanied by social transformation. In February, BATIK Int led popular education workshops to strengthen the collective leadership of the women herders. The result? Women who feel ‘light as butterflies’ and ready to organize themselves into a network to build collective power.
