Last February in Hammamet, 40 Tunisian students came together for an intensive training on sexual and reproductive health (SRH), led by our partner The Tunisian Forum for Youth Empowerment. The aim was clear: to break taboos and become genuine agents of change within their universities.

A new partner has joined the « Parions l’égalité » project : the Rosa Association, which supports the autonomy of rural women near Ouarzazate through goat farming.

But economic autonomy alone is not enough if it isn’t accompanied by social transformation. In February, BATIK Int led popular education workshops to strengthen the collective leadership of the women herders. The result? Women who feel ‘light as butterflies’ and ready to organize themselves into a network to build collective power.

In a global context marked by the rise of conservative movements, BATIK International welcomes France's ambition to position itself as a leader in feminist diplomacy, but reminds that it will only be credible and transformative if it is embodied in inclusive, sustainable feminist diplomacy that provides the necessary support to organizations on the ground.

At the Emerging Valley summit, dedicated to innovation and technology around the Mediterranean, BATIK Int. spoke on behalf of feminist associations.
