A safe space for Ouarzazate's women breeders
In Ouarzazate, BATIK International co-facilitated participatory workshops with women farmers on self-esteem, mental workload and the often invisible issues they deal with on a daily basis. In collaboration with the Rosa association and Elevages sans Frontiere, these exchange sessions enabled us to gain a better understanding of their needs and lay the foundations for more appropriate and sustainable support.
Last week, BATIK International co-hosted workshops with women farmers from villages in Ouarzazate (Morocco), alongside the Association Rosa and Élevages sans frontières.
Together, we discussed self-esteem and the division of domestic and farming tasks in a supportive and intimate setting. These discussions highlighted the double burden women bear, the underestimation of their role, and the crucial importance of self-esteem.
They will enable Rosa to tailor its support to the realities of rural women and the gender dynamics that shape their daily lives.
