Supporting women's activities and their place in the community
Parions l'Egalité project
Women's economic inclusion is a key factor in their individual empowerment and in genuine social justice at community level.
Nevertheless, the rigidity of the rôles attributed to women and men in societies drastically curbs the possibilities and resources enabling the latter toinsert themselves into working life and to develop sociallyépanouir.
Despite their international commitments and the adoption of politico-legal measures, the countries of action of the Parions l'Egalité project still account for 27% in Tunisia or even between 45 à 56% in the Sahel (Sénégal, Burkina Faso, Mauritania) of young women (aged 15-24) neither in employment nor in training.
Since 2022, the project partners have been strengthening their actions in favor of the economic and social empowerment of young people and women by identifying the obstacles specific to them, while adapting training and support schemes to their needs.
They also mobilize playful and artistic tools, as well as the voices of the women and young people they accompany, to promote a culture of equality at the community level.
Ultimately, partners will develop their own gender awareness in order to move towards a world in which women have a stable income and retain control over their resources.
