Promoting and sharing immigration stories
Launched in 2007, the Patriarches project aimed to promote the memories and stories of elderly immigrants living in the Ile-de-France region.
With the support of a Council of Elders made up of three elderly migrants, testimonies and life stories were collected from people from the Maghreb, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Southeast Asia. The journeys of these Patriarchs combine history and personal stories: they have so much to tell and share with others, especially younger generations.
This project is a tribute to their memory, which we have taken care to pass on through discussion meetings and screenings, as well as through the production of a book, a film, an educational kit, and a photo exhibition.
